Life in a House: Should You Choose a Grounded House or a Multi-Storey?

Design the Perfect Home

When it comes to choosing a place where you are going to live, you pose a million questions: Should I buy a house or an apartment? Where should I live? Should it be on the outskirts of the city or somewhere in the city? Should I buy it or build a new one? Should I decide for a grounded house or maybe a house with two or three floors?

And many, many other similar questions. Anybody who considers doing a project this big and this complicated should know that this is definitely not a piece of cake. This process includes a lot of thinking, preparation, research – all in all, you need to put some effort into it.

See what your options are

If you wish to buy or build a house, you need to think how big that house will be. Of course, other things like your economic situation can solve that problem for you. If you have a certain budget in your mind – a budget you shouldn’t exceed – you should logically consider living in a smaller house. But, if your budget and family are somewhat bigger, why not choose a bigger house? Well, both solutions have their good and bad sides – so, you will definitely have a lot to think about.

A small house can offer a lot

Less space gives you several great advantages. For example, if you don’t have free time for maintaining, a smaller house will be a better choice because it will take less of your time. Cleaning a smaller house will not be that demanding. Another advantage is that you will be much closer as a family in a house where you see each other frequently.

School and work can take even up to eight hours daily so you don’t want to go home where everybody will be in their room, where communication (which is very important) is kept to a minimum. Grounded houses needn’t be too small, but are a very good option for families with small children regardless. The parents will keep an eye on their children at all times.

You will not have to worry about your children getting hurt from a fall but also, you will not have to waste additional funding for all the precaution measures like safety locks on windows or on balcony doors. During winter time, you will spend less money on heating. Your home will be warm and cozy during in the nick of time, if your living space is smaller. Yet, such small spaces often offer no possibility of privacy. Everybody needs to be alone from time to time.

Don’t discard bigger houses that easily

More work comes along when getting a big house. But this should not be a problem if the family is big because every member of the family can be assigned to do a certain amount of work, thus everything will function as it should. Even though one of the main purposes of human relationships is conversation, all of us need some quiet time for ourselves just to think. Having your own room is very important especially for adolescents.

Bigger houses provide this kind of privacy for people, especially multi-storey houses. On the other hand, these houses are often very hard to clean and paint, particularly when it comes to the exterior. Cleaning the gutter and the fixed windows are always a problem of a multi-storey house, but all you need is some decent equipment and you are good to go. There are all kinds of good platform ladders, leaf scoopers, sturdy buckets or even just your basic long-handled tools that will help you keep your house clean from the outside as well.

Think twice

You will get the impression that taking up a project as big as this will be a complete nightmare. It will be hard but in the end you will be happy and proud of the place you live in, you will be proud of what you have achieved. Do thorough research and put all the pros and cons on a piece paper before making your decision. All of this work will be worth the effort when you see you and your family living happily in your home.
